The young detective must once again rely on his wits to save him from the unethical and often uncareing adults around him. The first book in the 'Young Sherlock Holmes' series — Death Cloud — was published in the United Kingdom in June 2010 February 2011 in the United States , with the second — Red Leech — published in the United Kingdom in November of that year with a United States publication date under the title Rebel Fire of February 2012. Matty helps Sherlock escape and they speedily return to Holmes Manor. The only draw back to having a story this short is that it feels rushed. However, there's also a fair few flaws here — for a start, Sherlock doesn't seem particularly bright, until the end of the story when he makes one fantastic leap of deduction which would be utterly convincing for the more mature character, but comes a bit too far out of nowhere for me compared to how he'd been portrayed in the earlier part of the novel.
Sherlock tells them he's not mad - but who'd believe a lunatic? So much potential to be fleshed out. So begins a summer that leads Sherlock to uncover his first murder, a kidnap, corruption and a brilliantly sinister villain of exquisitely malign intent. Although he is a young boy, Sherlock is curious and wants to catch the killer and solve the mystery. His fearless journey is full of action and does not fail to amaze me in a way that only the incredible creation that is Sherlock Holmes can. Red Leech is the second book in this series of mystery adventures featuring a teenage Sherlock and endorsed by the Conan Doyle Estate.
Matty had also previously seen this cloud. After Young Sherlock Holmes series, Andrew did another Series called Lost Worlds which also got some attention. Young Sherlock also notices a yellow powdery substance around the dead body and takes some to find out what it is. So, dedicated Sherlockians are unlikely to find this book particularly satisfying — but in fairness, it's clearly aimed at youngsters, so how does it fare there? It also reads a bit more like fan fiction than a 'proper' book in some places — there's lots of nods to the original books, including the famous quote about eliminating the impossible, and a villain whose surname starts with M and therefore presumably starts the famous M index which would go on to include Moriarty and Moran , but the ending is the kind of far-fetched nonsense — with a lead villain who goes down as one of the most implausible I've ever read — which is likely to have anyone over the age of 14 or so laughing as they read it. This could have easily been drawn out into I love the young Sherlock Holmes series, and this short stand alone story is no exception. Young Sherlock Holmes is back. After reading along a bit further I realized that it was actually it's own little bit. On arrival to America, Sherlock finds out where Matty is being held and they follow the captors as they move Matty to a train. إنها لحظة حديث حقيقي صادق لشخص يمسكك من كتفيك وينظر في عينيك. Andrew describes young Sherlock as lonely and he does not make friends easily. When no one will tell you the truth, sometimes you have to risk all to discover it for yourself. Sherlock is then lured to a carnival where he unwillingly participates in a boxing match and is then kidnapped by Baron Maupertuis. Sherlock's mother has died, his father has disappeared in India and his sister is acting strangely.
