Chris Kreider: "The Intent Was To Get Him Out Of The Way"

With the Rangers leading by a goal and only 1:15 remaining to play in the third period on Sunday, Chris Kreider was penalized for cross-checking Florida's Scottie Upshall. The penalty placed the Rangers in a precarious situation, killing off  penalty on a 6-on-4 after the Panthers also pulled goaltender Tim Thomas for the extra attacker.

On Monday Kreider explained why he apologized to his teammates after the game, how he was just trying to get off the ice and shoved Upshall out of the way, and how this accidental mistake nearly cost the Rangers dearly.
