The Rangers controlled play throughout the second period Wednesday night against the Washington Capitals, but had nothing to show for it on the scoreboard. That changed, though, when defenseman John Moore sent a wrist shot off the crossbar and past goaltender Braden Holtby to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Later, Ryan Callahan would make it 2-0 and that was all Henrik Lundqvist needed for the win.
