McDonagh, Staal Embracing Clean Slate

The theme thus far in training camp has been coming into the 2013-14 season with a "clean slate." After the opening day of camp, which was comprised of skating drills and tests, players have been embracing the motto, with several stating, including defensemen Ryan McDonagh and Marc Staal, stating there's an added excitement entering camp with the fresh outlook.

On Thursday, McDonagh discussed his experience at the Team USA Olympic camp, the season's "clean slate," and his feelings heading into a season with new head coach Alain Vigneault.

Staal, meanwhile, spoke about the benefits camp will bring him both physically and mentally, where his vision is at as well as the reasons why he will be sporting a tinted visor, the fresh start and more.
