Aside from the man between the pipes, it could be argued the Rangers best player during the 2013 season was Derek Stepan, who had possibly his best season in the NHL to date, posting 18 goals and 44 points in just 48 games. Last season, he recorded 17 goals and 51 points over an 82-game campaign.

On Monday, Stepan met with reporters during the team’s Breakup Day in Westchester and discussed the season, what went wrong against the Boston Bruins, his contract situation and the stitches he received after taking a Ryan McDonagh shot to the chin against Boston.
