While only five Rangers took part in Wednesday's optional skate at the MSG Training Center, all eyes were fixed on the tall left-handed shot wearing the red practice jersey---and wearing a new elongated visor on his helmet. Injured defenseman Marc Staal was on the ice passing and shooting and skating with teammates Matt Gilroy, Roman Hamrlik, Darroll Powe, and Martin Biron on Wednesday---his third straight day on the ice, and his first with multiple teammates.

Afterwards Staal spoke with reporters by his locker.
