Rangers head coach John Tortorella was very pleased with how his players overcame a shaky first period and rediscovered the best of their game at home on Monday night over the second and third periods, as well as overtime. That positive momentum led to an easy 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes in an overtime shootout.
The coach also had high praise for rookie J.T. Miller, who scored the deciding goal in the shootout.
