Rangers legend Ed Giacomin set the standard for goaltending at Madison Square Garden during his 10 full seasons at the team's top goaltender from 1965 to 1975. Giacomin's No. 1 has hung in The Garden rafters since 1989, and he was only the second Ranger to be honored with a jersey retirement ceremony. Long before the chants of "Hen-rik, Hen-rik", there was "Ed-die, Ed-die".
On Tuesday night, Giacomin was back at The Garden to see the Rangers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2. Prior to the start of the game, he agreed to go "On the Spot" with BlueshirtsUnited.com's Jim Cerny. Giacomin played a word-association game the took him back in time to some of the great memories of his years in New York.
