One of the true highlights of the Whale's 4-3 OT loss Saturday to Syracuse was the gorgeous game-opening goal scored by Christian Thomas in the first period. To top it off, the goal came in front of Thomas' Dad, former NHL forward Steve Thomas who is an assistant coach with Syracuse---though Thomas claims it was "no big deal".
