In her teens Vera moved back to Finland and while still in highschool, she was spotted by a local modeling agency. Shortly after she moved to Finland, she was discovered by the premiere Finnish modeling agency and began to appear in national campaigns, and on magazine covers. She is fluent in Bulgarian, Finnish and English and speaks some Spanish, French and Russian. Vera resides in New York with her husband, designer Federico Ruiz. In Barcelona, Vera attended the International Art School Metafora, where she mostly concentrated on abstract painting, photography and installation art.
Vera spent the next ten years living and working in Milan, Paris, Hamburg, Cape Town and Barcelona. Vera spent the early part of her youth traveling with them through Scandinavia, and later lived with her grandmother in Bulgaria.
