My judgment is that this book does nothing as well as the D'Aulaires' book and actually does some things much worse. I'm not disputing that the original myths may include some adult content, but this new book is not presented for adults. So, why the relatively low rating? Wonderful illustrations and accessibly Norse storytelling. I don't think it is necessary to hit kids over the head with the concept that murdering someone is bad.
