Never In Doubt?

So now you can tell the truth. How confident were you heading into Saturday's Game 7? How confident were you heading into this series? Did your confidence ever waver? And how confident were you after Brad Richards scored 92 seconds into Game 7?

I was confident the Rangers would win. I said Rangers in 5...but I always do that lol...it took longer for us to take the series but that's expected. Anything can happen during these series. Once Rich scored I was ecstatic...then MDZ topped it off. That flukey goal was expected.

Strong team effort in all zones for all three periods. Relentless at both ends of the ice.

When the fans show confidence in the team, the team will bring it back one way or another. I never felt we would lose game 7. Hopefully we can deal with the Devils in fewer than 7 games ;-)

I always believed the boys could win the series. Thought we would win it in game 6 but that was not to be. I was nervous about the game but confident in our team, that they would prevail. That being said, I was on pins & needles the whole game!

On thursday - after game 6 - I was not very confident. I thought that game was the opportunity. But on saturday morning I felt a little more confident after thinking about the extra day off, the last line change, the fact that the blueshirts had an earlier game 7 experience. I was confident that they would win the series but thought in 6 games (I thought the Caps would be Boston). Good confidence after he scored that goal - they needed that.

I felt like we were always going to be in the game. Was just hopeful that the bounces went our way. Huge credit to Coach Tortorella for his strategy that 1. The Rangers top line had to produce and he needed to get them going early and 2. The first goal of the game could be the only one of the game, and 3. If given the chance to lock it down and protect even a 1 goal lead, the Capitals were going to be tough. Double shifting Richards' line early was a great move! The Caps were confused by it on the line change and it gave the Rangers enough time and space to make a play on Hagelin's pass to Richards.

I was certain that they could and should win the game, and I was confident that they would win;but I must admit that just before the game started I said to myself, " Oh well, if the worst happens tonight, our boys really gave us a great ride."

I honestly think this is the best team on the ice right now and all season . They are well coached and have leaders on the team who step it up every game I think this team will make histoey.

I honestly was in playoff-queasy mode. being a rangers fan for as long as i have been, i know that being optimistic is a one-way ticket to disappointment. at least in my experience!

Yeah but enough water has gone under the bridge now Meghan that we've gotta try and let those feelings go. I have 'em too. Too many loses to the Islanders in the playoffs throughout the 80's, too many missed opportunities, too many times the other team got the big goal. But we're getting the big goals now - or at least or share of 'em. So now I'm worried about the worst, but I don't expect it as much as I used to. Listen, if we happen to make it to the finals, the 2 teams left have NEVER won the Stanley Cup. For LA it has been since 1967 - they were 1 of the original 6 expansion teams.

I thought that we would win it. The caps played well, but I didn't think they would get the two in a row against us.

I always feel confident when the Rangers play an important game. Doesn't mean I don't get nervous, but I know they can pull it off!

Can't be a fan & not be a little nervous. But felt good from the 1st puck drop of Game 7 - Home Ice advantage with last change is & was huge... They as Torts said played the best 3rd period of both series by NOT sitting back which also made me feel comfortable for the whole game even after Boyle goal was waved off.

I was nervous (like I always am) but our stellar record at home in game 7s made me feel better. As soon as Richards scored I knew we had momentum that would carry us, and the fact that the team that scored first was 6-0 in this series said a lot.

Brad Richards is just awesome.... when we get eveyone else going, New Jersey is in big trouble.... we are a much better hockey team.. I think BRANDON PRUST will step up big time vs. New Jersey... and the Fedetenko-Boyle-Prust line will be sensational!!!!!!!!!!!

Since about Thursday I'd felt this weird confidence that I couldn't shake. Calm and collected. The way the players were talking, the fact it was at the Garden... I didn't doubt they could do it for a second. It offset the nerves quite nicely. And thankfully wasn't unfounded. Great team effort by the guys, as always.

Confidence is for the players. For us - fans - it was a coin flip. It's either champagne at the end or box of tissue, both ways accompanied with defibrillator and mouth to mouth resuscitation. We can only hope, and hope is a very powerful feeling.

I was nervous, but confident. When the Rangers scored a second goal, I was confident.... when the Caps tied it up seconds later, I was nervous again!
