In his second season with the Rangers, Derick Brassard played a crucial part on arguably the team's most consistent line, and solidified the second-line center role. Brassard had the second-best season of his NHL career in terms of points thanks to his vision and playmaking ability alongside Mats Zuccarello and Benoit Pouliot. For the second consecutive spring, Brassard had success in the playoffs, scoring 12 points in 23 games.
