The 2013-14 season was easily defenseman Ryan McDonagh’s coming-out party. The skating and defensive awareness has been there basically since Day 1 back in 2010-11, but this past season saw McDonagh take a huge step forward offensively and become one of the league’s best all-around defensemen.
While his development is a positive for the Rangers, the best part is that McDonagh is still just 25 years old, meaning No. 27's best days are still ahead of him, starting with next season when McDonagh will take on an even larger role with the Blueshirts.
