Though he proved elusive in not being photographed after the game wearing the Broadway Hat, Rangers captain Ryan Callahan was easy to find on the ice during the game Tuesday night at The Garden while he was in the process of earning the Broadway Hat.
Callahan netted his 17th goal of the season to open the scoring just 4:05 into the game Tuesday, and also assisted on Brad Richards' 3-0 goal that put the game away late in the third period. The Blueshirts' captain also played a typically hard-nosed gritty game to pace the Rangers to their 31st win of the season.
"I think it just shows the maturity of our team and where we are as a hockey club that we didn't focus on the break or worry about what was ahead of us," said Callahan after the game. "We just concentrated on this game. At the end of the day these two points were just as important as they were against Boston (Saturday night). We came out, played the game we wanted to, and now get a little break."
