Derick Brassard had himself an excellent week as he figured into both the Blueshirt's key victories over Colorado and Pittsburgh. On Tuesday night against Colorado, Brassard assisted on Anton Stralman's goal that made it 3-1, and later put the game out of reach when he converted a no-look pass from Mats Zuccarello that put the Rangers up, 4-1, in the third period.
On Thursday, Brassard blasted a one-timer from Zuccarello that beat Ben Scrivens in the second period to tie the game, though the Rangers ultimately lost.
Brassard extended his point-streak to six Friday night against the Penguins. A key face-off win on the power play in the second period allowed Dan Girardi to fire the puck past Marc-Andre Fleury to give the Blueshirts a 2-1 lead.
As stated with Pouliot, this line is just clicking on all cylinders right now, and it's been a lot of fun to watch Brassard become the player he was last spring.
