Benoit Pouliot set the tone early against the Pittsburgh Penguins with a heads up goal in front of the net just a minute into the game. Pouliot did not give up on the play following Mats Zuccarello's opportunity on a wraparound, and ended up banging home a loose puck on the goal line to put the Blueshirts up, 1-0. Pouliot wasn't done, though, as he later buried a Dan Girardi rebound in the third period to give the Rangers a 3-2 lead.
Pouliot has been money with line mates Zuccarello and Derick Brassard. On Thursday, Pouliot picked up an assist on Brassard's game-tying goal in the second period against the Oilers. The trio is clicking and the points keep piling up for the threesome. Pouliot has been using his size, speed and skill as well as he has all season.
