Rich Nash has been on fire for several weeks, and the past seven days were no exception. Nash registered four goals in three games, and now leads the Rangers with 18 goals, including 11 in his last 11 games.
Nash started the week with a two-goal effort against the Islanders. Just more than a minute into the game, Chris Kreider found Nash unmarked in the slot and Nash finished the opportunity with a laser of a wristshot to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Just over 10 minutes later, Dan Girardi attempted to clear the puck from the Rangers’ defensive zone, but picked up his head at the last second to see Nash streaking up the middle of the ice. The two connected on a pass that sent Nash in alone on Islander’s goalie Kevin Poulin, and No. 61 decked the goalie and slid it just between his right pad and the post for the goal.
Nash followed Tuesday night’s effort with a goal against the Blues to tie the game in the second period. The Canadian Olympian ended the week with a goal against the Devils in the team's first of two games at Yankee Stadium. His goal capped a four-goal second period by the Rangers and put them ahead 6-3.
