Despite this technically being his third season, Chris Kreider is still eligible for the Calder Trophy for the NHL's top rookie. Kreider has received attention midway through the season thanks in large part to week's like this one. Kreider opened his week with an assist in Monday's shootout loss to Columbus, and followed it up with an assist on Rick Nash's game-winning goal Friday night against the Stars. Kreider finished his week with a big game against the Flyers, scoring a goal and an assist in the team's 4-1 win. He’s creating plays all over the ice thanks to his speed, size and vision on the ice. That recipe has proved fruitful, as he's generating scoring chances for him and his line mates each game.
