If you can believe it, the Rangers haven't seen the Philadelphia Flyers since late October when, the Flyers prevailed, 2-1. Nearly three months later, the teams meet again, with both teams having improved since that matchup in the City of Brotherly Love.
Early in the season, the Flyers were struggling mightily and even fired their coach. Since then, though, the Flyers have turned it around and currently occupy the third and final playoff spot in the Metropolitan Division, though the Rangers are just two points behind.
When the two teams last met, the Rangers were closing out their historic nine-game road trip to start the season. That game saw the debut of Cam Talbot, and he along with his team played good enough to win, but it wasn't in the cards that night.
These are big games within the division, and the winner will most likely improve their playoff standing following this contest.
