Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist appeared in two World Junior Championship tournaments, in 2001 and 2002. In his first tournament, Lundqvist went 3-4 with a 1.86 goals against average in seven games. The following year, Lundqvist went 3-2-2 with a 2.15 GAA. Sweden did not medal in either tournament.

Defenseman Anton Stralman manned the blueline for Sweden in 2006, and picked up one assist in six games. Forward Carl Hagelin skated in the 2008 tournament, and while he did not register a point in six games, Sweden did return home with a Silver Medal.

Rangers prospects Jesper Fast and Oscar Lindberg both appeared in the 2011 WJC tournament for Sweden. Fast scored four goals and added two assists in the six games, while Lindberg notched two goals and two assists. Sweden did not medal.
