USA-born Rangers prospects have shined at the World Junior Championships, namely the 2010 squad that won the Gold Medal by defeating Candada.

That squad was captained by current Blueshirt Derek Stepan, who led the tournament with 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) in seven games, and was named to the tournament’s all-star team.

Forward Chris Kreider was also part of the 2010 Gold Medal team, where he notched six goals and one assist in the seven games, including a tally in the Gold Medal game against Canada. His six goals were tied second with six other players, including former first overall pick Taylor Hall.

Kreider returned to the tournament the following year in 2011, where he recorded four goals and two assists in six games leading to a Bronze Medal.

Rangers prospects Danny Kristo and Ryan Bourque were also part of the 2010 Gold Medal team. Kristo scored five goals and three assists in the seven games, while Bourque picked up three assists. In 2009, Kristo scored one goal in six games; in 2011, Bourque picked up three assists in six games.

J.T. Miller took home Gold for Team USA at last year’s WJC from Ufa, Russia. The forward notched two goals and seven assists in seven games.

Rangers captain Ryan Callahan scored one goal and one assist in seven games for Team USA at the 2005 games. Defenseman Ryan McDonagh scored three assists in six games in his only WJC appearance in 2009.
