Nash Targeting Next Week For Return

Rick Nash made his first road trip with the Rangers since suffering a head injury in a game against the San Jose Sharks on October 8th when he travelled up to Montreal this weekend. After taking part in the team's morning skate at the Bell Centre Nash generated buzz by providing the first timetable for his return to the Rangers lineup.

Nash told reporters after the skate that he is hoping to be back in the lineup either next Tuesday when the Rangers host the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden, or next Thursday when the Blueshirts face the Stars in Dallas. The star power forward has been skating for more than a week, and rejoined his teammates for full practice on Wednesday. Nash will not play this weekend against the Canadiens or Los Angeles Kings, bringing to 17 the number of games he will have missed since Brad Stuart's elbow caught him fluch in the head, but it seems more evident by the day that his return most definitely is imminent.

Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault was asked for an update on Nash's condition by a French-Canadian reporter after the skate on Saturday, and speaking in French, Vigneault indicated that he believed Nash still required another couple of practices before returning to the lineup, but that he was also hopeful the seven-time 30+-goal scorer could be playing by the end of next week.
