Derek Dorsett had his most improved week of the season registering both a goal and an assist in four games. Averaging just over 11 minutes a game, Dorsett scored his second of the season against Florida Panthers netminder Tim Thomas in the 4-3 win Sunday night. While it doesn't always show itself in his stat line, Dorsett makes every minute of his time on the ice count. It's no surprise that he registered seven penalty minutes in the victory against the Penguins, as he picks his spots for physicality and inspires other with his hard-nosed play. You can be sure that every opponent knows, if not feels, when Derek is on the ice. Dorsett also assisted on Derick Brassard’s tally in the 5-1 rout of the Penguins. Dorsett currently leads the NHL in penalty minutes with a total of 73.
