Monday Postgame Chatter

“ Everybody was excited for this game, so I'm pretty sure everyone's disappointed. We can't allow ourselves to be frustrated. ”
- Mats Zuccarello
“ It's fun to play here again. I think we did a lot of good things. It was a tight game. It was a disappointing loss, but it was great to be back. ”
- Henrik Lundqvist
“ Especially because it was the home opener, guys were so excited and there was definitely energy in the room. The effort was there, same as in Detroit (last Saturday) if not more so. We didn't get the result so it's back to the drawing boards. ”
- Chris Kreider

Monday's home opener did not turn out the way the Rangers would have hoped, though the team did play a solid defensive game again and Henrik Lundqvist was sharp between the pipes. But yet again the Rangers were undone by their inability to put the puck in the net, falling to the Canadiens 2-0.

After the game BlueshirtsUnited.com caught up with Lundqvist---who made 25 saves in his return to the lineup, Mats Zuccarello---who recorded a pair of shots on goal over 13:49 of ice-time, and Chris Kreider---who had a team-high five hits and was robbed on a great scoring chance in the first period, to discuss various aspects of the 2-0 loss.
