2009 Vs. Ottawa Senators

The Rangers opened their 2009 home campaign against the Ottawa Senators on Oct. 3. While the night is memorable for those who attended the game — my father and myself included — the night was especially important for a young defenseman named Michael Del Zotto, who exited the arena in possession of the puck he recorded his first NHL goal with. Another first was Vinny Prospal’s first goal as a Ranger. As usual, Lundqvist held it down with 32 saves on 34 shots as the Rangers won, 5-2.
