Just like last topic, it’s tough to find things to like in such a lopsided game, but there was: shots. The Rangers peppered Roberto Luongo with 41 shots, and there’s a good chance on most nights, some of those may have gone in and we’d have a different game on our hands. Taylor Pyatt and Brad Richards each had five shots apiece, while two others had four each. Just two players — Michael Del Zotto and Jesper Fast — finished without a shot on net. While you’d like to see a few go in, the fact of the matter is that the Rangers controlled the puck all night, and that is something Alain Vigneault and his coaching staff have been preaching since the start of training camp. The team is buying into it and the results will come.
