Rangers Ready For Pre-Season Opener

“ Tonight we will play to win, but it's also about putting guys on ice at any moment to see how they react. ”
- Alain Vigneault
“ I'd say it's an opportunity (to play on line with Nash and Richards), and I want to take advantage of that opportunity. And I can learn from them on every single shift. Hands-on experience like that is a great opportunity. ”
- Chris Kreider
“ I feel like I just need to go out there and play my game and give the guys a chance to win. I am extremely happy that (AV) considers me in the race for back-up, but I am also looking to set myself up for the future. ”
- Cam Talbot

The Rangers open up their six-game pre-season schedule tonight in Newark with a tilt against the Devils. This morning head coach Alain Vigneault was asked if winning this game is important, while Chris Kreider was asked about the chance to skate on a line with Brad Richards and Rick Nash, and Cam Talbot discused his opportunity to play in the pre-season opener.
