All-Time Series

The Rangers and Blue Jackets did not face each other in last year’s abridged NHL schedule, delaying the highly-anticipated return of Rick Nash to Columbus after the mega-deal which landed him on Broadway during the summer of 2012. But this season Nash and his Rangers ‘mates will travel twice to Columbus while ex-Rangers Gaborik, Dubinsky, Anisimov, Erixon, and Tyutin help the Blue Jackets invade The Garden twice, as well.

All-time, the Rangers are 5-6-1 against the Blue Jackets, including a 3-1-1 mark at Madison Square Garden.

The most recent game played between these two teams occurred on February 19, 2012. Amidst rumors that the first-place Rangers were trying to pry Nash from the Blue Jackets in a long-rumored deal, the Blueshirts skated to a 3-2 home-ice victory despite Nash’s game-tying goal with 1:33 remaining in regulation. Derek Stepan won it for the Rangers just 22 seconds into overtime.
