For the first time since the 1998-99 campaign, the Rangers are entering a season with new division foes, as the NHL’s realignment will introduce three new teams — as well as a new name to the former Atlantic Division, now dubbed the Metropolitan Division.

One of those three teams is the Carolina Hurricanes, who are coming off a lackluster 2013 campaign that saw the squad finish 19-25-4, and finished 13th in the Eastern Conference.

While 2013 may be a season the Hurricanes would like to forget, 2013-14 is poised to be a bounce-back campaign with a healthy Cam Ward in net and a second season of Eric and Jordan Staal playing on the same team.
