After suffering a pair of shutout losses on the road in consecutive games, the Rangers returned to Madison Square Garden on April 1st in need of a spark. And Derek Stepan provided just that, scoring just 19 seconds into the Blueshirts contest against the Winnipeg Jets. Sprung behind the defense on a neat pass from Ryan Callahan, Stepan wastes no time rifling a shot past goaltender Ondrej Pavelec---the first of two goals he would score in what turned out to be a crucial 4-2 Rangers victory. This win kick-started the Rangers 10-3-1 month of April.
