Lundqvist’s last playoff shutout came in Game 3 against the New Jersey Devils in last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. With the shutout, Lundqvist tied Dave Kerr for second all-time in Rangers playoff shutouts.
In his last five elimination games dating back to Game 6 against the Ottawa Senators last season, Lundqvist is 4-1 with a 1.40 goals against average and a .947 save percentage.
Brassard Extends Point Streak
Forward Derick Brassard scored the game’s only goal to extend his point streak to four games, posting two goals and five assists during that span. His seven points leads the Rangers and is seventh most in the NHL.
Moore Registers First Playoff Point
Defenseman John Moore picked up an assist on Brassard’s goal for his first career playoff point in his sixth game. He finished with 12:19 of ice time.
Moore became the third player this series to score his first postseason point, along with Brassard and Mats Zuccarello.
Zuccarello Adds Another Helper
Mats Zuccarello picked up the other assist on Brassard’s goal to give him four assists in his last four games. He added two hits in 20:55 of ice time. He’s registered more than 20 minutes of ice time in three of the team’s six playoff games this series.
