No. 3 – Brad Richards (1G, 3A, 4PTS)

The Rangers struggled offensively throughout the regular season and as the push toward the playoffs increased, the Rangers needed their marquee players to ratchet up their offensive play if they had any hope of securing a spot in the second season.

Brad Richards answered the call, shaking off a tough first three months of the season with an inspired effort down the stretch. Entering the week in the midst of a three-game point streak, Richards extended that streak to six games, posting a goal and three assists, none more vital than his game-tying powerplay goal against the Hurricanes late in the third period on Thursday. Richards fired a shot wide, but the puck shot back in front, banked off goalie Dan Ellis and over the goal line to knot things at three.
Richards looks to have turned his game around just in time for the postseason. As Rangers fans witnessed during last year’s playoff run, a confident Richards can be the difference between an early exit and a deep run.
