Rangers forward Ryan Callahan netted two goals Sunday to extend his point streak to four games (three goals and three assists). He finished with a game-high five hits in 23:18. He's third on the Rangers with 14 goals, while his 148 hits is eighth in the NHL. Callahan has 11 points in his last 11 games.
It was Callahan's second mutli-goal game of the season with the first coming on March 5 against the Flyers.
Pyatt Tallies One in Game 800
Forward Taylor Pyatt scored his fifth goal of the season in his 800th career NHL game. He added four hits in 12:01 of ice time, while extending his point streak to three games. It was Pyatt's first goal since Feb. 26 against the Winnipeg Jets.
In 800 NHL games, Pyatt has 135 goals and 273 points.
"It's nice [to score]," Pyatt said. "It's been a while. But to score a big goal in an important game certainly feels good."
Goal, Assist for Stepan
Forward Derek Stepan scored a goal and added an assist Sunday to extend his point streak to four games. He posted a plus-2 rating in 21:03 of ice time. Stepan has tallied a point in 10 of 11 games in April, and has 31 points over his last 27 games. He is tied with Rick Nash for the team lead in points with 40.
Richie Stays Hot
Brad Richards continued his hot streak Sunday afternoon when he finished with two assists and led all skaters with four takeaways in 14:14 of ice time. He has seven points in his last three games, including four goals. His current three-game point streak ties his season-high, which he set in the season's first three games.
Clowe Picks Up Assist
Forward Ryane Clowe picked up an assist on Stepan's goal, had three shots and two hits in 15:06 of ice time. The assist was his eighth point in 10 games as a Ranger after coming over from San Jose near the trade deadline. His three-game point streak is a season-high.
McDonagh Point Extends Assist Streak
Defenseman Ryan McDonagh picked up an assist to extend his assist streak to three games. He finished with 23:16 of ice time. He now has seven points in 11 games during April, including a five-game point streak at Madison Square Garden. His seven points this month ties his monthly high this season, which he set in February.
