Rangers: The Blueshirts explosion of goals the past two games has produced many interesting numbers to chew on. The Rangers eight-goal outing Friday in Buffalo marked the first time since an 8-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers at MSG on November 14, 2010 that the Rangers had scored that many goals in a game. In addition, the Rangers have scored 14 goals in their previous two games, the first time they have totaled that many in two successive games since January 17 and 19, 2010 when they also totaled 14 in beating the Canadiens 6-2 and the Lighning 8-2, with both contests taking placed at The Garden.
Devils: New Jersey erupted for a season-high six goals against the Panthers Saturday afternoon, surpassing their previous high of five. The Devils have scored five goals in a game twice this season. And it was the eighth time in 44 games in which New Jersey has scored more than three goals.
