Zucc Gets First Goal

Forward Mats Zuccarello scored his first goal of the season (nine games) Tuesday night, and finished with a minus-1 rating in 16:46 of ice time. Of Zuccarello's eight career goals, three of them have come against the Flyers. His last goal came on March 19, 2012, against the New Jersey Devils, a span of eight games.

Stepan Stays Red Hot

Derek Stepan continued to impress Tuesday night when he scored his 15th goal of the season. He finished with a game-high five shots, as well as three takeaways in 22:36 of ice time. He has 26 points in his last 24 games, including 10 in his last eight contests, and is now tied with Rick Nash for the team lead in points with 35. His 15 goals this season in 42 games is two shy of his total last season in 82 games.

 

Brassard Adds Another Helper

Derick Brassard, acquired as part of the Marian Gaborik trade earlier this month, picked up an assist on Stepan's third period tally, and now has seven points in seven games as a Ranger, including a three-game assist streak. He went 8-for-16 in the faceoff circle in 17:52 of ice time.

 

Strong Game for Captain Cally

Rangers captain Ryan Callahan picked up an assist and led all forwards with 24:23 of ice time Tuesday night, and now has six points in his last eight games. His ice time was the most he's logged since he posted 24:53 on March 21 against the Florida Panthers.

 

Moore Picks up An Assist

Defenseman John Moore, who was also acquired from Columbus earlier this month, picked up his second assist and third point as a Ranger in seven games.

 

Girardi Blocking Rubber

Defenseman Dan Girardi had a team-high four blocked shots to go along with three shots and three hits in a game-high 27:38 of ice time. Girardi is fourth in the NHL in blocks with 107, just seven behind the league leader, Andrew MacDonald.
