The Rangers ended the week with a near-perfect record of 3-0-1, with convincing wins over the Winnipeg Jets and Pittsburgh Penguins at home, and followed it up with solid road games against Pittsburgh again and the Carolina Hurricanes.
Offensive was the name of the game of the last seven days, as the Rangers outscored their opponents 15-5 over the four games in which they secured seven out of a possible eight points, and find themselves in seventh place, just two points out of sixth in the Eastern Conference.
The team appeared to have a spark on Wednesday with the additions of Ryane Clowe, Derick Brassard and John Moore, all of whom were acquired prior to Wednesday's trade deadline. The trio has produced nine points in the three games, including eight in their debut Wednesday night.
