No. 2  Derek Stepan (3g, 3a, 6p)

Derek Stepan is quickly emerging as one of the team's most dangerous offensive threats. The 22-year-old had his first multi-goal game of the season on Monday against the Winnipeg Jets, including a goal just 19 seconds into the game. Stepan followed it up with a great defensive play in the second period when Henrik Lundqvist left his net to stop a shot but missed, and Stepan made a heads-up play and blocked a Kyle Wellwood shot from going into the empty net. Stepan ended his night with his second goal in the third period that proved to be the game winner in the 4-2 victory.

Stepan continued his strong week Wednesday night when he played in his 200th NHL game against the Penguins. The center finished the night with an assist and a plus-1 rating in 20:58 of ice time, which led all Rangers forwards. He added an assist on Friday night and capped his week of with a goal and an assist Saturday night in Raleigh against the Hurricanes. Stepan now has 31 points in 38 games this season.
