By The Numbers

Rangers: The Rangers have won seven of their last eight games against the Hurricanes, and are an astounding 22-6-3 in their last 31 games against the Southeast Division, including a 7-3-1 mark this season. During the larger span, the Blueshirts have outscored their opponents 98-64.

Hurricanes: The Hurricanes have been playing without starting goaltender Cam Ward fo several weeks due to injury, and since then, have relied heavily on Dan Ellis. The 32-year-old veteran has struggled, though, going 0-4-1 in his last six games with a 3.50 goals against average. He did have success against the Rangers earlier this season, though, posting 35 saves in a shootout loss at Madison Square Garden last month. For his career, Ellis is 3-1-1 with a 2.14 GAA in five games against the Blueshirts.
