62-21-61 A Strong Trio

The Rangers line of Hagelin, Stepan and Nash finished with eight points on the night, including three of the team's five goals. The Rangers are 7-0-1 when the trio starts a game.

"They're playing with confidence," Richards said of the line. "Derek is playing with a lot of confidence right now."

"It's been an effective line," Tortorella said. "We wanted to try and change some things … I consider that our top line. They've probably been our most consistent players this year, so we put them together."

Kreider Gets on the Board

Rookie Chris Kreider, playing in his third game since being recalled last week, scored his second goal of the season Tuesday night. He finished with a career-high four shots on goal in 13:00 of ice time. His previous high was two shots on net.

Kreider now has two goals and one assist in four games against Atlantic Division foes this season.

Mac Racking Up Ice Time

For the third time this season — and second in non-overtime games — defenseman Ryan McDonagh logged more than 28 minutes of ice time. His 28:54 was the most he's had since Feb. 12 against the Boston Bruins (29:39).

He finished with a plus-2 rating with three shots, a hit and a block.

MDZ Adds a Pair of Helpers

Defenseman Michael Del Zotto registered two points, two hits and three blocked shots Tuesday night. His 26:59 was the second-most ice time he's logged this season, behind his 27:41 night on March 14 against the Winnipeg Jets.

Del Zotto now has five points in his last four games.

Hags Gets Third Star

Winger Carl Hagelin was named the game's third star — behind Nash and Stepan — after registering an assist, a team-high five shots and a plus-3 rating in 18:52 of ice time.

The Rangers improved to 10-2-1 when the 24-year-old registers a point.

It was the first time this season Hagelin finished with a plus-3 rating, and the first time since he was a plus-4 on March 13, 2012 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Girardi Feasts on Flyers

Defenseman Dan Girardi finished with an assist, three hits and two blocked shots for a plus-2 rating in 27:32 of ice time. 23 of Girardi's 121 career assists have come against the Flyers. He's faced Philadelphia 40 times.
