The Rangers fired 45 shots at Florida Panthers goalie Jakob Markstrom Thursday night, but could not get one past him until shot No. 42. That is when Marian Gaborik made an aggressive power move to the net and finished in pretty fashion with 3:48 to play in the third period. The goal cut the Blueshirts deficit to 2-1 at the time, though the Rangers eventually lost 3-1 on an empty-netter. The goal was Gaborik's ninth of the season, and came on his own eighth shot of the night.
