To put things in its most frank terms, the Rangers were reeling Sunday night at Madison Square Garden, trailing the Capitals early 2-0 and being outshot by a wide margin. The Blueshirts desparately needed a spark, and the fourth line provided it. Arron Asham, who had missed the previous 15 games due to a lower back injury, started the Rangers comeback with a wicked finish off a 2-on-1 rush that was started by Kris Newbury, who just 24 hours before had been recalled from the Connecticut Whale. This goal at 14:12 of the first period helped the Rangers earn a point in an eventual 3-2 shootout loss.
