Rangers-Michael Del Zotto: Though last night was the 20th consecutive game he did not score a goal, it was also one of Del Zotto's better all-around efforts in quite some time. Del Zotto was extremely active in the offensive end, jumping into plays, firing five shots on goal, and making big-time passes, and head coach John Tortorella was pleased postgame when he spoke of Del Zotto's contributions to the 2-1 win. Tortorella did add that he needs to see some finish from Del Zotto, as well, not just chances. MDZ has ten points (2-8-10) in 26 games this season.
Devils-Johan Hedberg: New Jersey's veteran back up makes his 13th consecutive start in goal since Martin Brodeur was sidelined with a pinched nerve in his neck. The results have been so-so. In his past 12 starts Hedberg is 3-7-2 with a 2.92 goals against average. On the season, over 16 appearances, Hedberg is 5-8-3 with a 2.71 goals against average and just a .888 save percentage. With Brodeur healthy enough to back up tonight, Hedberg's string of starts may soon be coming to an end.
