Rangers: Prior to losing their last two games to the Penguins at the CONSOL Energy Center last season, the Rangers had fared remarkably well in the Penguins' new home since it opened, winning five straight games. The Blueshirts most recent win in the CONSOL Energy Center was January 6, 2012 when Henrik Lundqvist made 37 saves en-route to a 3-1 victory. Pittsburgh is 8-4-0 on home ice so far this season, and is 13-4-1 in its last 18 home games (including Civic Arena) against the Rangers.
Penguins: Piitsburgh pulled off a feat that no other NHL team in history had done when they recorded back-to-back third-period comeback wins against Boston and Toronto this week. In doing so, the Penguins became the first NHL team to win consecutive regular-season games in regulation time after trailing while being shut out entering the third period in both games.
