"We Never Stopped Grinding"

“ We never stopped grinding, that's when you know sooner or later that puck is going to go in. We were in their zone so much. ”
- Carl Hagelin
“ It's a good faceoff win and three great passes (on game-winning power play goal), even (Rick) Nash's spin-o-rama at the blueline was a great pass. It was good for our power play. I think we did a lot of good things. ”
- Derek Stepan
“ It's weird how the score was with how we played. It wasn't exactly reflective of how the game was going, but that's how the game works sometimes. We said to just stick to our game in here, not hurt ourselves and we'll come out of this game with two points, and we did so. ”
- Michael Del Zotto

The Rangers had a lot to feel good about Sunday night after a well-played, hard-nosed 60 minutes earned them a 2-1 victory over the Washington Capitals at The Garden, despite a near-heroic performance by Caps goalie Braden Holtby who made 38 saves.

Following the game Carl Hagelin---who scored for the fifth time in his last four games, Derek Stepan---who scored the power play game-winning goal in the third period, and Michael Del Zotto---who assisted on Stepan's score and played a solid 24:17, explained how the Blueshirts were able to pick up the valuable two points on Sunday.
