The United States entry into the upcoming World Junior Championships opened its training camp at the MSG Training Center on Sunday night, and on Monday head coach Phil Housley put the team through a pair of practices---one in the morning and another in the late afternoon. Camp continues in New York on Tuesday before Team USA heads to Finland to play some exhibition games and make final cuts prior to the start of the actual tournament on December 26 in Ufa, Russia.
Also in Finland Housley plans to name his captains, with JT Miller, the Rangers first round selection in the 2011 NHL Draft, a leading candidate not only to receive a letter on his jersey, but to possibly be named team captain.
Following Monday's afternoon practice, Housley talked about JT Miller's leadership skills with BlueshirtsUnited.com's Jim Cerny.
