On 12.12.12: Who Is Best Rangers No. 12?

Since today's unique 12.12.12 date arrives only once every hundred years, it seems a perfect time to take that number twelve in a Rangers context and ask the question: Who is the best player to have ever worn No. 12 for the Rangers?

And as a follow-up question: Who is your favorite player to have ever worn the No. 12 Blueshirt?

For the record 39 players have worn No. 12 for the Rangers, alphabetically from Andy Bathgate---who briefly wore the number before settling on his now-retired No. 9---to Todd White, who donned it for 18 games during the 2010-11 season. Don Maloney (pictured) and Bryan Hextall Sr. quite successfully wore the No. 12 Blueshirt, and Eddie Olczyk had that number with the 1994 Stanley Cup champions. Phil Esposito briefly wore No. 12 as a Ranger, and familair names like Tim Kerr and current Connecticut Whale head coach Ken Gernander had it as a well.

So who is numero uno on your list of Ranger number twelves? And who is your favorite Blueshirt No. 12? Share your answers and join the debate below!
