"I Am Here To Get Better"

“ I'm a rookie, and there is still a ton to be learned. I'm just getting my feet wet in my first pro camp. It's nothing I have experienced before, and it's exciting. ”
- Chris Kreider
“ I'm just excited to play. I love playing hockey. I have dreamed my whole life about playing professionally and doing it as my occupation, and that's what I have the chance to be doing now. I'm glad to be here and playing hockey, and am trying to enjoy every second. ”
- Chris Kreider
“ I'm here to play. I'm here to learn. And I am here to get better. Nothing else from the outside factors in. This is a learning experience. ”
- Chris Kreider
“ If nothing changes, Chris will start the season with (the Whale) and it will be a good opportunity for him to learn because this is a hard league. But I also think he's going to be a big player in Connecticut. ”
- Jim Schoenfeld

Chris Kreider was easy to notice Sunday morning as the Connecticut Whale opened up training camp at the MSG Training Center. Going full-out in every drill, and creating numerous scoring chances during a scrimmage using his trademark high-end speed and quick shot, Kreider excelled out on the ice. Then off the ice he was surrounded by a group of reporters, many of whom were at Whale camp specifically to track the Rangers first round pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.

With a very polite demeanor, Kreider answered questions about starting his first pro season in Whale camp in the absence of Rangers camp.
