"I'm Excited To Get Going"

“ I always want to push myself to another level, and I felt like I've had a really productive off-season and worked on a lot of different things. I'm excited to get going. ”

“ It's just fun to be around the guys again. Everyone has their groups they work out with in the off-season, but it's fun to get back together with the guys and catch up with them and start working together again. ”

“ It's awesome that I got a chance to meet the new guys; and it's really good that they are here and working out with the rest of the guys. I think everybody is really excited to get after it. We have an awesome group here, so we're all really excited, for sure. ”

Popular Rangers defenseman Stu Bickel made the drive from his Minnesota home to New York late last week to join fellow Blueshirts at daily informal workouts at the MSG Training Center. And though he broke through into the NHL last season as a 25 year-old rookie---subsequently earning a new contract this past summer---Bickel's focus and work ethic have not changed one iota from the days he was toiling in the ECHL and AHL.

In between his on-ice workouts this week and looking for a place to live this season, Bickel chatted with BlueshirtsUnited.com about his approach, meeting his new teammates, and getting a jump-start on the 2012-13 season.
