“ My skating is my biggest strength. It's my best skill, and I try and use it as best as I can to beat opponents and make my teammates better. I want to show (the Rangers) my speed and my intensity (at development camp) and learn how the organization works. ”

“ Oscar (Lindberg), I have known since several years ago. It's good to have someone I can talk to when I don't quite understand something. In Sweden I can talk to anyone, but here it's good that I can discuss with (Oscar) as my partner so that I understand things better. ”

“ (The boat cruise) last night was awesome. It's not every day you can see the Statue of Liberty up close. And the lights of the city when you go back, it's really awesome. ”

“ The beginning of last season was really good. I scored lots of points and made the national team, and then the ankle (injury) came---which was so hard. But I rehabbed and came back before the end of the year and now feel good. ”

It's not where Jesper Fast wanted to be on Wednesday---sitting behind the glass, watching his fellow Rangers prospects take part in practices and a scrimmage. No, Fast would have much preferred being out on the ice with the others. But a bruised nose---suffered during Tuesday's scrimmage---landed him on the sidelines instead, a "precautionary move" according to Gordie Clark, the Rangers Director of Player Personnel.

Despite the black and blue nose, Fast did ride the bike with no ill effects Wednesday, and will be back on the ice on Thursday.

During his down time on Wednesday, Fast chatted about a variety of topics with Jim Cerny from BlueshirtsUnited.com.
